On April 7th Swann, in conjunction with ThoughtWorks, won the AIIA (Australian Information Industry Association) VIC State Financial Industry Application iAward, as a result of the deployment of Swann's Website. The following short description was included as part of Swann’s nomination:
"The Swann Online Insurance Portal is revolutionising the way Australians can purchase and maintain insurance coverage. It offers Internet-based real time quotes, online purchasing, renewals and claims featuring straight through processing without human intervention. It represents an extension of Swann’s business model complementing its traditional dealer network. Utilising development partner ThoughtWorks’ Agile techniques, Swann are able to deliver products and services more rapidly to market and introduce innovative technology that makes software development radically more efficient."
Swann / ThoughtWorks are now in the running to win the National iAward in the same category. National winners will be announced on May 27th.
