From Manly to Mount Druitt, Kurnell to Kellyville, it’s important to have the right level of insurance cover whenever you venture out on your motorcycle. Swann Insurance offers tailored motorbike policies, no matter where you live in Sydney and where you’re riding to.
In NSW (as well as SA, ACT and QLD), you have the option of choosing your own insurer for Compulsory Third Party Insurance, unlike in VIC, WA, TAS, and the NT, where Compulsory Third Party insurance is automatically included in your car or motorcycle registration fees. This insurance will cover you for personal injury caused to third parties (i.e. other drivers, passengers, pedestrians, cyclists etc), but won’t cover you for damage to your or other drivers’ vehicles.
There are several other levels of insurance cover available for your bikes:
Comprehensive Insurance is the highest level of cover available for your motorcycle, which offers protection if your bike is damaged in an accident, stolen, or burnt, all across Australia. Comprehensive motorbike insurance in Sydney will also cover you for your liability to pay compensation for loss or damage if another person’s property (e.g. car, motorcycle, fence etc) is damaged in an accident, with the cover protecting you all over Australia.
Choosing comprehensive insurance also allows you to select additional benefits, such as cover for your helmet and riding gear, as well as optional roadside and personal assistance with unlimited call-outs.
Third Party Fire & Theft insurance offers insurance cover in case your motorbike is stolen or is damaged by fire, and will also cover you for loss or damage that occurs to another person’s property, all across Australia.
Third Party Liability will only cover you for any damage caused to another person’s property, and will not cover you for damage caused to your own property.
Dirt Bike Cover is available for registered or unregistered dirt bikes for recreational use only, covering you for fire, theft and 50% of the market value of the bike in case of accidental damage.
Regardless of which cover type you choose, you’ll also receive a 10% discount if you own more than one motorcycle and cover them all under the one policy.
