In NSW (as well as SA, ACT and QLD), you have the option of choosing your own insurer for Compulsory Third Party Insurance, unlike in VIC, WA, TAS, and the NT, where Compulsory Third Party insurance is automatically included in your car or motorcycle registration fees. This insurance will cover you for personal injury caused to third parties (i.e. other drivers, passengers, pedestrians, cyclists etc), but won’t cover you for damage to your or other drivers’ vehicles.

Comprehensive Insurance is the highest level of cover available for your motorcycle, which offers protection if your bike is damaged in an accident, stolen, or burnt, all across Australia. Comprehensive motorbike insurance in Sydney will also cover you for your liability to pay compensation for loss or damage if another person’s property (e.g. car, motorcycle, fence etc) is damaged in an accident, with the cover protecting you all over Australia.
Choosing comprehensive insurance also allows you to select additional benefits, such as cover for your helmet and riding gear, as well as optional with unlimited call-outs.
Third Party Liability will only cover you for any damage caused to another person’s property, and will not cover you for damage caused to your own property.
Regardless of which cover type you choose, you’ll also receive a 10% discount if you own more than one motorcycle and cover them all under the one policy.
